About the workshop: Dive deep into the foundation of dance performance, the source of emotion, inspiration, and passion that figuratively and literally moves us: the music. In this workshop, you will learn how to effectively find play within the power of phrasing, feeling the music beyond 5-6-7-8 counts that confine our creativity and limits our expression. Whether you’re a power move or slow simmer style performer, you will gain a new depth of understanding and the ability to deliver more impactful artistry through your unique connection to the music. Her professional background in music oozes into her dance expression, giving her a uniquely sensual movement style. She is internationally recognized for her exceptional skills on the pole, her extravagantly beautiful costuming, and the creativity of her theatrical performances. A multidisciplinary artist, Nicky is also the creator of Retro Strxp Show, a renowned live music stripper showcase in Vancouver, BC. Nicky produces the event, sings, and performs alongside elite striptease artists, backed by a seven piece band. Off the stage, she is the photographer behind Strxppxr With A Camera, a movement and pole dance instructor, and a forever student of the performance arts.
